Supporting Children with Autism
Kerry brings a wealth of experience supporting autistic children and young people, as well as those with ADHD, across both mainstream and specialist school settings. With 28 years’ experience working in mainstream education, she has developed a deep understanding of supporting autistic children, including those with higher levels of independence.
Since qualifying as a Music Psychotherapist, Kerry has further expanded her expertise through working in specialist school environments, exploring the unique ways music can support communication, connection, and emotional expression.
Music therapy offers a powerful and accessible way for children who may be non-verbal, or who find traditional communication challenging, to connect with others within a safe, supportive, and nurturing space. Some students express themselves through singing, while others engage through a range of musical instruments and creative sounds. Through these shared musical experiences, children can develop confidence, build relationships, and find meaningful ways to communicate and connect with those around them.
